Advanced Investment Webinar Series
Aired Live December 8-12, 2025
Join us for the 2025 Advanced Investment Webinar—a unique seminar for both newer and more seasoned investors wanting to take control of their own investment portfolios. We will teach stocks, bonds, real estate, and more. Historically this has been our most popular seminar – and for good reason. It is 100% focused on education, helping doctors to have a better understanding of investments so they can feel more comfortable taking control of their own portfolios. Many attendees return year after year because the strategies they learn have proven tremendously profitable.
Making Investing Understandable with Our 5-Part Webinar
This webinar series emphasizes simple and sane long-term investing that combines (1) a knowledge of investment history so that we have a sense of what is normal, (2) a methodology for selecting and analyzing individual investments, and (3) the right temperament for successful long-term investing. The idea is that we will then know WHAT we are doing, WHY we are doing it, and WHEN we should do it. That makes it easier to avoid panicking when markets fall and easier to avoid freezing up when “experts” contradict each other. By understanding the value of the investments you own, you can add to them with confidence when markets periodically hang “for sale” prices on them, as they will continue to do from time to time.
WEBINAR SCHEDULE
Day 1
Creating Your Investment Portfolio
Introductory to Advanced Concepts
Presented By: Brandon Collier
- Live Event Date: December 8, 2025
- Duration: 2.5 Hours
- CE Hours: 2.5
Covered Topics
Brandon will explain the principles of investing – including:
- There are various approaches to investing, some simple, some complex. What’s important is developing a plan that you can understand and you can implement.
- How stocks (and to a slightly lesser extent real estate) have been the greatest long-term wealth creators
- The three types of investments – productive assets, income generating assets, and assets that produce nothing but are bought for other reasons – and which one we love most…
- Understanding the differences between actual investments versus speculations
- Why the commissioned salespeople touting insurance their products as investments are wrong
- The tax treatment of different investment classes and how to think of saving into sheltered and non-sheltered accounts
- How to evaluate whether an investment advisor is worth his or her fees
- Inflation and interest rates. What affects short-term and long-term rates, and why Fed rate reductions won’t have much of an impact on stocks, mortgage rates, and longer term bonds
- Asset allocation at different stages of life and why having your “retirement” allocation set five years before retirement starts is crucial (better alternatives to a standard 60/40 allocation)
- Different approaches to stock investing from basic (but very legitimate) indexing to individual stock selection, and an approach to stock investing that has served many doctors very well over the years
- Interest and dividends. Buy stocks for growth (not income) and buy bonds for the income. But if you do own dividend paying stocks, why you should be reinvesting those dividends

Day 2
Investing in Stocks
Identifying the Future Winners and Valuing Companies to Predict Long-Term Returns
Presented By: Brandon Collier
- Live Event Date: December 9, 2025
- Duration: 2.75 Hours
- CE Hours: 2.75
Covered Topics
- In this advanced segment we will examine several publicly traded stocks to determine if they are likely to be great, good, or poor long-term performers.
- To do this we will be limiting ourselves to businesses that have been historically successful and, based on certain competitive advantages, we think will continue to be successful.
- In order to value businesses in this way, we will explain the importance of key financial data — corporate earnings and cash flow, dividends, return on assets and return on equity.
- This is a much more educated approach to stock investing than what many doctors do – buying on “tips” or succumbing to greed and buying after a stock has moved up enough in value that continued appreciation is in doubt. This is the approach that Warren Buffett has successfully used throughout his tenure at Berkshire Hathaway. It is not overly complicated, and the concepts are explainable so long as we have access to good data.
**For this segment, you will need a financial calculator. We recommend the Hewlett Packard 12C or similar. The HP 12c App is available on Apple and Google Android. We’ll walk through how to use it with basic examples and then apply our knowledge to analyzing a number of different stocks.

Learn More About Lawrence
Lawrence Barris is the owner of Gadyan Management, a prominent property development and management firm based in Houston, Texas. With a keen eye for industrial real estate, Lawrence began his commercial real estate journey in 1997 with a large warehouse/office purchase, which he successfully sold in 2007 through a 1031 exchange. That year marked a turning point as he incorporated his first multi-tenant business park into his portfolio, followed by two additional industrial warehouse complexes within 18 months. To this day, none of these properties have fallen below 95% occupancy, thanks to Lawrence’s innovative system of competitive rent pricing, lean operational costs, exceptional management, and strong tenant relationships—never allowing a potential tenant call to go to voicemail. His disciplined approach has consistently delivered high returns and low operational costs.
Throughout the COVID pandemic, Lawrence expanded his investments by acquiring more investor-focused business parks, implementing strategic operational changes to sustain the same level of success achieved through his proven system. Recognizing the rising value of industrial real estate, he pivoted toward development and is now overseeing a fourth office-warehouse development project, this one being 170,000 sq ft, with pre-leasing already underway. Outside of his professional pursuits, Lawrence actively volunteers in his community. He has been a member of Rotary International for over 40 years, earning multiple Paul Harris Fellowships, and serves as the national president of the Hebrew Order of David, an organization modeled similarly to Rotary that raises funds and supports various charitable causes both regionally, nationally, and even internationally. Originally from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Lawrence immigrated to Houston in 1984 with his wife Sharlene, and they are proud parents of Jodi and Jonathan, both vital members of Gadyan’s team.
